So I picked up a very biscuity cheap old coronado pst for £250 and have modded it and stuck it on the end of a 2nd hand £50 helios 90mm f10 refractor. I have to use my narrowband Ha filter and an extremely narrow band 0.15nm (i think) filter that I bought off ebay from a company called Omega (which isn’t doing them any more ;-() and this cost somewhere around £150. Anyways I’m beginning to get some interesting results. This timelapse taken over the course of an hour shows some movement in the lower sunspot, a thingy forms, it looks a bit like a long cloud. IF I can increase my focal length then I think I might be in business…
